Running at 40 Plus is thrilled to that announce that Josephine has agreed to become an advocate for our running community. She embodies everything that, we, as a community stand for.  Josephine is a member of The Ugandan Crew and can often be seen at Burgess Parkrun.

Louise was training for the virtual London Marathon in 2022 when she was diagnosed with Lobular Breast cancer, it was a complete shock as her mammogram had been clear three weeks earlier.  Breast cancer broke her and her family but she was determined not to let it take away her dream of running the Virtual London Marathon so she carried on training throughout both her Mastectomies and Radiotherapy.

This is such a moving story. Shortly after joining Running At 40 Plus, Jo Wilinska was diagnosed with breast cancer. She shared this all with our community with her posts, the good and the bad. We are truly thankful for her honesty, her spirit and most of all the inspiration she gave and still continues to give us all, throughout her journey.

Following a haemorrhage and major brain surgery that left her unable to walk, with impaired vision and balance, as well as permanent profound hearing loss, she has been focused on getting back everything the tumour took away from her, and much more.
